Mark Chao (; born 25 September 1984) is a Taiwanese-Canadian actor, singer and model. He is the son of . He graduated from the University of Victoria, Canada. He achieved a double major of sociology and economics degree. He started his career in the entertainment industry in Taiwan after he graduated. He established his reputation by starring as the main character Wu Ying Xiong in the television series ''Black & White''. He achieved the 44th Golden Bell Awards: 2009 Best Leading Actor in a Television Series. His agency is Prajna Works (普拉嘉國際意像). In 2010, he starred as Zhou Yi Wen in his first movie, ''Monga'' and achieved the 5th Asian Film Awards of Best New Actor. In 2012, he participated in several successful movies including ''Caught in the Web, Love, The First Time, I Love You to You Love Me'' and ''Black & White'' episode 1. In 2013, he participated in two hugely successful films, ''So Young'' and ''Young Detective Dee: Rise of the Sea Dragon''. ==Personal life== In April 9, 2012, he was spotted on a date by paparazzi in Nanjing with Gao Yuanyuan〔(udn News )〕 who has also participated in the movie of Caught in the Web.
